Peter Fowler is the only Australian teeing up at the final event of the European Seniors Tour this week, the two time 2015 winner looking to lock up second spot on the Order of Merit behind Colin Montgomerie.
Fowler, who failed to earn a card to the US Champions Tour at their Q-School last week, can’t overtake the Scot at the top of the standings but will be keen to ensure he’s not overtaken himself by third place holder Barry Lane.
Having jumped to the top of the standings with a runner-up and back to back wins in three starts early in the season, Fowler has held his place with solid play including two other top 10 finishes.
The MCB Tour Championship is a limited field event featuring just 60 players, Fowler’s best result coming in 2012 when he finished T2.
