Andrew Dodt is finishing 2014 with a flourish after posting a runner-up result at the Asian Tour’s King’s Cup in Thailand at the weekend.
Dodt, who won the Queensland Open in August, also earned his European Tour card at Q-School last week to cap off a resurgent season.
Dodt fired rounds of 69-65-69-67 to finish 18-under-par and two shots behind winner Thaworn Wiritchant.
The US$43,250 cheque also moved him to 28th on the Order of Merit and ensures he will retain his playing rights in Asia for 2015.
Kalem Richardson also continued his recent good form in Thailand with a T4 finish and having moved to 47th on the Order of Merit should be safely inside the top 60 who keep their cards at season’s end.
Jack Munro and Adam Groom were the only other Australians to finish in the top 20.
With three events to go on the 2014 Asian Tour schedule nine Australians look likely to retain playing rights.
Kieran Pratt currently lies 54th and needs some good results while Terry Pilkadaris has fallen out of the top 60 after missing the cut at the King’s Cup though at 62nd on the list could easily make his way back in with some good play in coming weeks.
