Cameron Smith suffered another disappointing Sunday at the Asian Tour’s Selangor Masters this week after losing the 54 hole lead with an over par final round.
Smith has been agonisingly close to victory three times already in 2014 but is yet to register his first Professional win courtesy of weekend struggles.
Smith took a one shot lead into the final round at the weekend but couldn’t do better than even par on Sunday and eventually dropped to a share of 4th.
He struggled from the beginning with a bogey at the first and never recovered.
The 21-year-old also held a share of the lead through 36 holes last week in Taiwan before shooting a pair of 1-over 73′s to drop to 7th.
Earlier this year Smith led through 54 holes of the Indonesian Masters before being outduelled on Sunday by India’s Anirban Lahiri.
The former Australian Amateur champion is the leading money winner among the Australians on the Asian Tour Order of Merit with US$94,416 in earnings in just five starts.
Scott Barr also finished T4 this week after a final round 68 with Jake Higginbottom the only other Australian in the top 10 at T9.
