It wasn’t the result he wanted at The Open but Nick Cullen has stayed on in Europe and will tee up at this week’s Challenge Tour event in France as he continues to try to establish himself full-time on an international Tour.

""The 32-year-old is one of three Australasians in the field for the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, with New Zealand’s Ryan Fox and former BMW New Zealand Open winner Dimi Papadatos also teeing up.

This week marks Cullen’s third start on the secondary Challenge Tour in 2016 and while he hasn’t produced his best golf he is yet to miss a cut.

His best result of 2016 came a month ago at the Lyoness Open in Austria where he was T10 but with no full status anywhere outside Australia the stop start nature of his schedule makes it difficult to build momentum.

Fox, on the other hand, comes into this event off three consecutive top-10 finishes on the Challenge Tour as he tries to atone for missing his full European Tour card last year by little more than €2,000.

In just three starts he has already played his way into the top-15 money earners and if he can maintain that place until season’s end will be assured of full rights on the main Tour in 2017.

Dimi Papadatos has also played three times on the secondary Tour this season but his results to date have been less than stellar, with just one cut made in those three starts.

It’s been two months of struggles for the NSW Central Coast native who missed six consecutive cuts before finally snapping that streak at his last start two weeks ago.
