Cullen finds form in Austria

2014 Australian Masters winner Nick Cullen
has posted a career best European Tour finish with a top-10 result at the
Lyoness Open.

2014 Australian Masters winner Nick Cullen
has posted a career best European Tour finish with a top-10 result at the
Lyoness Open.

"NickCullen posted a final round 70 to get to
6-under for the week, seven behind winner Ashun Wu but good for a T10 and a
cheque for €15,800.

With no status on any Tour outside
Australia the finish is an important one for the affable left hander who needs
to make the most of all playing opportunities.

Cullen has moved to 164th on the
Race to Dubai rankings but if he can gain more tournament starts and climb
inside the top-110 would earn him playing rights for next season.

Also impressing in Austria was Canberra’s
Matt Millar who overcame a poor start to finish just outside the top-25.

Millar, the form player of the ISPS HANDA PGA
Tour of Australasia the past two seasons, posted a disappointing 76 in
Thursday’s opening round but fought back with scores of 71-68-71 to climb to
T26.

It was the opposite story for David
Bransdon who opened with an impressive 69 to be in the top-10 after 18 holes
but faded to T31 with rounds of 73-74-71.

Terry Pilkadaris (T38) and Daniel Gaunt
(T42) were the last of the Australians to make the cut.

Todd Sinnott, Brett Rumford, Jordan Zunic,
Dimi Papadatos, Scott Arnold, Aaron Pike, Matthew Guyatt and Kristopher Mueck
all failed to qualify for the weekend.
