Conran played consistent golf around the demanding Mollymook Hilltop layout recording rounds of 73 and 71 to claim the title. His 71 was the equal low round for the tournament as rain and wind inhibited scoring.
“What a great golf course this is, it’s tough but rewards good shots,” explained Conran in his acceptance speech.
Ladbrokes Legends Tour Order of Merit leader Tim Elliott finished outright third at three over par while drawcard Peter Senior finished one further back tied fourth. Other notables included Michael Harwood (T4th), Terry Price (T16th) and Peter O’Malley (T18th).
Senior State Manager with the PGA of Australia, David Barker praised the support of the Mollymook Golf Club, Shoalhaven City Council and the local community in delivering the event.
“It is great to see so much community support in the region. Everywhere on the South Coast we have been made most welcome and I know the Legends players appreciate the effort.”
The Mollymook NSW PGA Senior Championship forms part of the Ladbrokes PGA Legends Tour which will see the Professionals embark further down the South Coast for the $22,000 Bermagui Ladbrokes Legends Pro-Am before finishing the coastal stretch with the $25,000 Club Catalina Legends Pro-Am in Batemans Bay later in the week
