The Myanmar Open returns to the schedule after a three year break and has the added benefit of now being co-sanctioned with the Japan Tour.

Brazel finished 13th on the Order of Merit last season, easily the best of the Australians who play the Asian circuit full time, and was T11 last week in Singapore with only the Japan Tour’s Wonjoon Lee ahead of him among the Australians.

This week’s field doesn’t have the depth of the Singapore Open and Brazel has every right to be quietly confident of a high finish and the possibility of being in contention come Sunday afternoon.

Brazel is one of eight Australian starters with Terry Pilkadaris, Scott Barr, Kalem Richardson and Unho Park the Asian Tour regulars teeing up.

From the Japan Tour Wonjoon Lee is backing up after his T5 finish in Singapore while Aaron Townsend, who earned his Japan Tour card at the Q-School last season, makes his first start for the year.

Jordan Sherratt rounds out the Australian challengers after receiving a sponsor’s invitation.
