Rohan Blizard and Peter Cooke are both inside the top-10 on the PGA TOUR China Order of Merit after high finishes at the Wuhan Open at the weekend.
Blizard finished outright third at 8-under
for the week with Cooke two shots further back in solo fourth in the event won
by Canada’s Justin Shin.
The Wuhan Open proved a good week for the
strong Australasian contingent playing the China Series, seven of the top-10
spots filled by Australian and New Zealand players.
Alex Hawley and Gavin Flint finished T5 and
T9 respectively while Kiwis Daniel Pearce (T5), Josh Geary and Matthew Perry
(T9) all had strong weeks.
Max McCardle (T12) and Aaron Townsend (T17)
were the only others inside the top-20.
Geary’s good play this week kept him at the
top of the Order of Merit after he won the opening event of the season and if
he can maintain a place in the top-five by year’s end will earn status on the
Web.com Tour in 2016.
Cooke moved to eighth in the earnings with
his second top-five finish in as many starts while Blizard is now ninth and
Alex Hawley 10th after strong starts to the season.
Former PGA TOUR player David Lutterus fell
out of the top-10 after a disappointing week where he failed to break par in
any round and finished T53.
