Blistering Ormsby into top-10

A scintillating 65 in the final round of the Spanish Open has seen Wade Ormsby burst out of the pack and into the top-10.

"WadeThe South Australian, who got off to a
frustratingly slow start with an opening round 77, unleashed six birdies on the
front nine on Sunday to rocket into contention after starting the day in 45th
position.

A seventh birdie of the day on the 10th
hole suggested something special might be on the cards for Ormsby but his form
cooled and he made eight straight pars to finish.

His eventual T9 result was his third top-10
in six starts in 2015 and continues the 2014 form which saw him post his best
year ever as a Professional.
After a career year in Europe which included competing in the Race to Dubai
final, Ormsby came within a five foot putt of winning the Australian PGA
Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort in a three way playoff with Adam Scott
and Greg Chalmers.

While that missed opportunity could have
haunted him the 35-year-old has shown no ill effects in the early part of the
year and sits inside the top-60 on the Race to Dubai standings.

Ormsby was the only Australian to finish
the tournament under par with Andrew Dodt next best at T56 followed by Richard
Green and Marcus Fraser at T61.

Jason Scrivener and Scott Hend both missed
the cut.
