With Nick Cullen and Ryan McCarthy both making starts at the main Tour’s Czech Masters only Ben Eccles and Daniel Gaunt made the journey to France for the Challenge Tour’s Cordon open.

""The pair are both in need of some good play as the season winds down, Eccles languishing at 85th on the Road to Oman and Gaunt not inside the top 100.

With only the top 45 guaranteed playing rights fort next year there is work to be done but neither could advance their cause at the unusually named Golf Blue Green de Pléneuf Val André course.

Eccles  fired rounds of 72-72 at the par-70 layout to be 4-over and miss the cut by two while Gaunt struggled to rounds of 72-75 to be well outside the number.

Just eight events remain on the Challenge Tour schedule with only Nick Cullen presently inside the top 45.

The South Australian is 37th on the Road to Oman with Eccles next best and the only other Australian inside the top 100.

Jordan Zunic is 101st, Ryan McCarthy 108th and Daniel Fox 139th.
