Kurt Barnes led the Australian challenge at the ANA Open in Japan this week as the form player of the Tour, Brad Kennedy, stumbled to miss just his second cut of the season.

Kurt Barnes led the Australian challenge at the ANA Open in Japan this week as the form player of the Tour, Brad Kennedy, stumbled to miss just his second cut of the season.

A consistent Barnes, winner of this event
in 2011, finished T23 at 6-under for the week, 10 shots behind runaway winner
Ryo Ishikawa.

With rounds of 71-73-69-69 Barnes was two
in front of next best Australian Brendan Jones (T36) with Won Joon Lee (T50)
and Michel Hendry (T58) the last of the Australasians to make the cut.

Kennedy, who has four top 5’s including
three runner-up results in his 12 starts this season, posted 73-72 to miss the
cut by a single shot, his second missed cut of the year.

Also having the weekend off were David
Smail, Matt Griffin, Peter Wilson and Matt Guyatt.
