Matt Guyatt, Matt Griffin and Peter Wilson will be looking for some much needed earnings this week when they tee up at the Fukushima Open this week.
The tournament, which features one of the
smallest purses on the Japan schedule, is in just its second year and the three
Australians join David Smail as the only Australasian representatives this
week.
Guyatt and Wilson in particular need to
boost their earnings for the year, they are both struggling outside the top-100
thorugh 10 events.
Guyatt has made just two cuts in his six
appearances while Wilson has fared better with five from nine but with a best
finish of T38 needs to improve.
Matt Griffin was in a similar position to
both Wilson and Giuyatt bt began to turn things around in his last start where
he finished T8 and picked up a decent cheque.
Playing his first year on the Tour Griffin
took some time to find his feet but if he can back up his last finish with
another good result this week will be well on his way to retinaing playing
rights for next year.
Japan Tour veteran Smail is enduring one of
his worst years in 2015 with just three made cuts in 10 starts.
However, a T4 result at the recent ISPS
Handa Global Cup has given him some breathing space with a decent cheque though
he will be keen to get back on track this week.
