Veteran
Steve Allan has produced a blistering final round to jump 66 places up the
leaderboard and regain Web.com Tour status for 2017.

""Allan and
Sydney’s Jamie Arnold were among 10 Australians trying their luck at this
week’s Q-School at the Panther Lake and Crooked Cat courses in Florida.

Allan
looked to have ruined his chances after a third round 76 that dropped him
outside the top-100 on the leaderboard but a superb Sunday saw him sign for 11
shots less, his 65 making him comfortably the biggest mover on the final day.

The top-45
finishers at the four-day Q-School earn status for the 2017 season, Arnold
posting a 7-under total for the week to be T19 and Allan sneaking into T35 with
his final round heroics.

Arnold set
up his week with an opening 67 then hung on bravely with scores of 72-71 and a
final round 69 to ensure his place on the secondary Tour for 2017.

The winner
of the Q-School earns a full card while those finishing 2nd to 10th
on the leaderboard are guaranteed 12 starts.

Those
finishing from 11th to 45th, including Arnold and Allan, are
guaranteed starts until the second reshuffle of exemption categories, likely to
be at least eight tournaments.

The news
wasn’t so good for the rest of the Australian contingent with Jordan Zunic,
Oliver Goss, Damon Stephenson, Mark Hensby, Nick Flanagan, Nick Cullen, Aron
Price and Max McCardle all missing out on the top-45.

They will
all have conditional status for the 2017 season though that presents limited
playing opportunities.
