Victorian Anthony Brown has had a hole-in-one during the first round of the Mazda NSW Open being played at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club.
Playing in the morning, Brown used his 6iron to ace the 169m par-3 6th hole.
"It was one of those ones where you don’t actually get to see the ball go in," said Brown.
"I knew on the tee that it was a good shot but it didn’t get much response from the volunteer behind the green. He gave me a clap, but that was it."
"When we got up to the green there was two balls but one was missing, it was mine in the hole."
Unfortunately for Brown the Mazda CX-5 GT Akera is up for grabs on the 16th hole over the weekend while on the 11th hole a year’s supply of Stockade Beer is on offer for a hole in one.
"I didn’t hit a very good shot into the Mazda hole today so one on the weekend would be lovely," added Brown.
Brown’s playing partners, Ryan Haller and amateur Ben Eccles both birdied the 6th which means the group played the hole in just five strokes!
This is Brown’s second ace of the season. He also slam dunked the par-3 12th at the ISPS HANDA Perth International.
"It had been a while since I had one so to have two in three weeks is pretty special," said Brown.
"I wish I knew what the secret is but hopefully it continues."
The ace was the highlight of Brown’s round. He finished the day at 1-under 71 at Stonecutters Ridge.
"The course is really good, it’s in great shape and the greens are quick," finished Brown.
