Greg Chalmers has ended a three event swing on the PGA TOUR with some decent golf in Mexico.
Chalmers, who lost his full playing privileges at the end of the 2013/14 season, has limited status on the main Tour and teed up each of the last three weeks with mixed results.
His T29 at the OHL Classic this week earned enough FedEx Cup points to move Chalmers into the top 125 but with limited opportunities in the new year he will struggle to remain there.
The Mexican tournament was the final full field PGA TOUR event for 2014 and Chalmers was one of five Australians in the field.
Aaron Baddeley was the only other to make the cut finishing a shot behind Chalmers and in a share of 37th.
Cameron Smith, playing on a sponsor’s invitation, missed his second consecutive cut in the US but will have benefitted greatly from the experience of teeing up on the world’s biggest tour.
Also failing to make the weekend were Cameron Percy and former runner-up Robert Allenby.
The PGA TOUR now takes a break until the second week of January when the Sony Open tees off in Hawaii.
