Brett Drewitt looks likely to win his way to the Web.com Tour after moving to third on the PGA TOUR China Order of Merit with just one event remaining on the schedule.
Drewitt lies in third place on the money list after posting a runner-up result at the Hainan Open at the weekend with the top five earning their cards on the secondary US Tour.
David MacKenzie slipped to fifth on the money list after deciding to tee up in the BetEasy Australian Masters at Metropolitan instead of making the journey to China.
Bryden MacPherson also opted to play in Melbourne rather than make the trip to China and lies 7th on the money list heading to this week’s event.
Drewitt finished six shots behind winner Hao Tong Li after a disappointing 3-over 75 on Saturday to Li’s 69.
The six shot swing proved the difference in the end with both players registering final round scores of 70.
Ray Beaufils and Ryan McCarthy also put together good weeks, both finishing T5 at 1-over for the week.
All the Australians in this week’s field made the cut with Gavin Flint (T16) the only other inside the top 20.
David Lutterus (T24), Chris Brown (T27), Brad McIntosh (T47) and Tim Stewart (T57) were the others in the field.
