It was hits and giggles mixed with some competitive spirit at RACV Royal Pines Resort today as Gold Coast Titans players Anthony Don and Will Zillman took on Steve Bowditch and Boo Weekley in a battle of the sports pitch or kick showdown.

In a tee set 35m from the goal posts, the Titans players took on the US TOUR players in their own sport, before the tables turned and all sportsmen kicked for the title.

It was clear that the two Titans players were no stranger to a golf club, both striking the ball confidently as they attempted the pitch.

Naturally, local hero Bowditch and Boo Weekley were never in doubt to for the pitch, and while Don missed, Zillman struck a sweet wedge through the posts to keep them in the game at two points to one down to the golf pro’s.

Round two saw the left-footed Weekley and Bowditch both miss their kicks, although Bowditch showed hints of a past football career by narrowly missing short right.

With the Titans taking confidence of their sport into the final leg, Zillman missed leaving Don the pressure kick to force a playoff. 

Don easily kicked through goalpost taking the showdown to a playoff, with each player to take one shot of the opposite sport. It was the Titans who faired best, with Zillman striking it through to take victory.
