Local boy John Senden has nothing but praise for the new nine at RACV Royal Pines Resort ahead of this week’s Australian PGA Championship starting on Thursday.

"I think it will be a good test because there are subtle undulations on the new nine which is interesting to try and read and make putts on," said Senden.

"Golf courses take a year of two to get really settled and I think with time this will be really, really good."

When asked of the differences in nines as part of a two year redevelopment plan for the course, Senden supported the long term vision of RACV and the PGA for the venue and Championship course.

"They’re in the process of making it a full 18 of Graham Marsh design and I’m seeing some really interesting changes which is developing the golf course into a fine resort [course] and [with] typical Queensland grasses."

Coming off a successful year on the PGA TOUR, which saw Senden return to the winners circle at the Valspar Championship in March, the Queenslander is prepared for the week ahead and is looking forward taking on the new nine at RACV Royal Pines Resort.

"When you’re scoring well you feel like you’re playing well, so it makes you feel good in your heart, makes you feel good in your mind," added Senden.

"Winning the Kirkwood Cup would be a dream and I think that’s one of the main goals playing in Australia is to win all three [Majors] and doing it in Queensland with the PGA would be an added bonus" added Senden.
