Having earned his European Tour card at November’s Qualifying School Jason Scrivener is wasting no time getting his 2015 campaign started.
The 24-year-old West Australian will play this week’s South African Open, the only one of Australia’s five exempt players to make the journey.
Scrivener made a run at the Australian PGA Championship at Royal Pines in December when rounds of 66-68 on Friday and Saturday saw him in contention and despite a disappointing 79 in the final round he will take plenty of confidence into the 2015 season.
Scrivener was born in South Africa and lived there till the age of five before moving to Zimbabwe and eventually Perth.
2015 marks his first year playing one of the world’s major tours.
