New South Welshman Aaron Townsend has fired a second round of 8-under 64 to lead the Oates Vic Open early in the second round.

Starting the day at 1-under the card and down the leaderboard, Townsend got his putter running hot to equal the course record on Thirteenth Beach Golf Links beach course.

He is currently co-leading with Jason Scrivener who has three holes to play on the beach course.

Playing alongside Townsend was Anthony Brown and amateur Brett Coletta who also had hot rounds with the pair shooting 4-under the card.

Overnight co-leaders Richard Green has just teed off on the beach course with Kris Mueck joining him at 1pm.
