Low scores expected on moving day

Its moving day at the Oates Vic Open and as temperatures soar on the Ballerine Peninsula we are expecting to see hot scores too.

Its moving day at the Oates Vic Open and as temperatures soar on the Ballerine Peninsula we are expecting to see hot scores too.

Amateur Andrew Schonewille tore up the creek course yesterday posting a bogey free round of 8-under to ensure he starts today a shot clear of the field.

However he returns to the beach course for the third round which appeared more challenging for the young Victorian.

Playing the beach course in the first round Schonewille recorded three bogeys but still managed to post a solid 3-under the card.

With the amateur sure to have some nerves in his opening holes an opportunity presents itself to the rest of the field to make a quick start.

Mitchell Brown is a proven winner having won the NZ PGA Championship early in his career and he will be flying high after a course record round yesterday on the creek course.

Another one to watch is the inform Jason Scrivener who yesterday equalled the tournament course record on the beach course.

Also lurking inside the top-10 is local amateur Ben Eccles who has a vast amount of experience playing at Thirteenth Beach Golf Links, BetEasy Masters champion Nick Cullen and Rookie Professional Todd Sinnott.

Other players we expect to make a move today are Richard Green, Ryan Fox and Matthew Griffin who posted weekend rounds of 4-under 68 last year to claim the title.
