PGA Tour of Australasia regular Josh Geary has won the first event of the 2015 PGA TOUR China in extraordinary circumstance at Mission Hills.

The New Zealand native began the final round of the Buick
Open four strokes behind leader Yi Cao of China but on a wild day for the
leader Geary hit the front with a long birdie putt at the 11^th.

Five front nine birdies from Geary had put the necessary
pressure on the leader and the 2013 WA Open winner looked a chance to run away
with the tournament after his hot start.

But things got tense on the back nine with two dropped shots
in the final four holes meaning Geary had a nervous wait to see if his one
stroke lead would hold up.

Playing three groups behind Geary, Cao made a fatal error
off the tee at the par-5 18^th, hitting a wild drive into the right
rough and being forced to take a drop from an unplayable lie.

An eventual triple bogey dropped him into a tie for fourth
with, among others, Sydney’s Jamie Arnold who is playing his second year in
China.

Arnold and Anthony Brown were the only two Australians to
finish in the top-10 with Michael Choi, Alex Hawley and David Lutterus all
finishing T12.

16 Australians teed up in the first PGA TOUR China event of
the year with 10 making the cut.

Now in its second year the PGA TOUR China plays 12 events. At
the end of the season the top five on the Order of Merit are awarded
conditional status on the secondary Web.com Tour in the US.

The PGA TOUR China will play again this week at the Eternal
Courtyard Open in Henan Province.
