Josh Cabban and Kris Mueck co-lead the South Pacific Export Papua New Guinea Open heading into the final round on Sunday.
Cabban fired 7-under 65 to join overnight leader Kris Mueck on 11-under, while last week’s Morobe Open runner-up Tim Hart sits three shots behind.
It was a good day on course for rookie Cabban, who shot five birdies and an eagle on 15th on his quest to claim the largest tournament of his short Professional career.
"There will no doubt be a lot of pressure in tomorrow’s final round, but no matter what happens I will still be happy with my week," said Cabban.
"It was great to play alongside Steven Jeffress and Matthew Ballard today and hopefully playing in the last group tomorrow will spur us on to perform well in front of the Papuan crowds."
After many close calls this season Mueck will be looking to break his drought and claim his first National Championship.
"I am really looking forward to tomorrow and although I left a few out there on the course today, I am still feeling confident heading into tomorrow’s round," said Mueck.
"I have gained so much experience from the performances of the past few months and I will need to draw on that experience throughout tomorrow’s round."
The final round of the South Pacific Export Papua New Guinea Open gets underway tomorrow at 7:00am with the lead group teeing off at midday.
