After the devastation that tropical cyclone Marsha brought to the Yeppoon Golf Club three months ago, the club has bounced back in a big way to host the inaugural Pines Capricorn Coast Invitational.

"MitchellApart from a number of trees that were lost, the course
was beautifully presented for today’s opening round, with Mitchell Brown,
Callan O’Reilly and Yeppoon local Adam Blyth all making the most of the light
winds to record rounds of 7-under 64.

Brown has been in solid form recently and today it all
came together for the younf Pro.

"I am really happy with the way that I played today, and
although I left a couple of shots out there, I am excited to be heading into
the final round in a share of the lead," said Brown.

"It’s quite amazing to think only a few months ago the course
suffered being hit by a category four cyclone, especially when you consider how
the course was presented today."

"Hopefully I can continue to hole some putts tomorrow and
put myself in a position to win."

The leading trio sit two shots clear of Paul Hayden,
while Tim Hart who won the PCR Polyweld Mining Town Series three days ago will
need to improve on today’s 68, if he is to be a contender come tomorrow
afternoon.
