Terry Pilkadaris posted his best result of the year at the Challenge Tour’s Czech Challenge while rookie Todd Sinnott failed to fire and missed his second straight cut on Europe’s secondary circuit.
Pilkadaris finished hot in the opening
round with a 5-under back nine which he backed up on Friday with a 4-under
effort for the same stretch.
However, while he made plenty of birdies
for the week it was a case of too many dropped shots for the Victorian who gave
away nine strokes over the 72 holes in finishing 9-under for the week and T17.
It was a similar story for Scott Arnold who
also picked up 18 shots for the week but gave back 12 over the course of the
tournament, eventually finishing T24 at 7-under-par for the week.
For Sinnott the damage was done in a horror
opening round 79 where back to back double bogeys at the 15th and 16th
holes proved fatal.
Though a second round 69 was a much better
reflection of Sinnott’s ability the end result was a weekend off, his second
missed cut in three starts on the Challenge Tour.
The 23-year-old has shown glimpses of form
since turning Professional at the start of the year but has been plagued by one
bad round each tournament.
His opening 79 this week was the
continuation of a trend having shot one round of 80 in each of his previous two
events.
With no status on the Challenge Tour
Sinnott is relying on invitations to tee up and will need to improve his
performance if the invites are to keep coming.
