Peter Senior posted his best result of the year with a T5 finish at the Champions Tour’s Shaw Charity Classic in Canada this week.
Senior, who has done everything but win on
the over 50’s circuit, opened with a brilliant 63 to be outright second after
the first round but an indifferent 72 on Saturday proved costly.
In a low scoring tournament the 2-over
round dropped him well down the leader board and effectively ended his chances
but the 55-year-old, always a feisty competitor, hit back with a 5-under final
round to push his way into the top-5.
Without a full card this year Senior has
played 11 events though prior to this week his best finish was a T10 at the
Principal Charity Classic last month.
Injury struggles since the start of the
year have kept Senior from playing his best for much of 2015 but he has been
back in form the last month and with several events left on the schedule that
elusive victory is not out of the question by year’s end.
