Kurt Barnes was the best of the Australasians at the Japan Tour’s Dunlop Phoenix event, the New South Welshman finishing just outside the top 25 in one of the Tour’s most lucrative tournaments.

Rounds of 72-72-69-68 saw Barnes finish 3-under-par and T27, one shot ahead of Matt Griffin and Brad Kennedy who were 2-under and T30.

Won Joon Lee was a shot further back and T39, Adam Bland (T44) and Michael Hendry (T57) the only others to make the weekend.

Both Brendan Jones and Scott Strange missed the cut.
