Victorian Professional Todd Sinnott is making his first appearance at this year’s Australian PGA Championship and after producing two steady rounds of 71 and 72, Sinnott is in hot pursuit of the Kirkwood Cup.

""However, while Sinnott has put himself in strong contention heading into weekend, the Aussie young gun wasn’t overly content with how things ended up after 18 holes on Friday after an even round.

"I was a little bit disappointed to be honest. The score didn’t really reflect how I played," said Sinnott.

"I dropped a couple of shots on the front nine and had 2-over coming in on the back nine, in easier weather too, which made our back-nine easier today.

Sinnott has divided his time between Australia and Europe this year playing tournaments on the European Challenge Tour, which has included co-sanctioned events with the European Tour, with his best finish coming  at the Tshwane Open where he finished inside the top-50.

"I’ve played a few events on the main and a few on the challenge.  I didn’t play too good in the middle of the year but it was a good learning curve. I got to see a lot of places I’ve never been before and play a lot of courses I’ve never played."

The overseas experience has been invaluable to Sinnott this week as he searches for his first Professional victory. Having never played at RACV Royal Pines before, Sinnott found the Graham Marsh designed course similar to those in Scandinavia and was happy with the way the course has been playing.

"I quite like it. It’s pretty difficult. Around the greens you can be in some tricky spots but I spoke to Jason Scrivener a bit about it, because he’d played here before and he said it’s much better now."

"Copenhagen was kind of similar to this, it’s a pretty individual golf course."

Tickets for the Australian PGA Championship are available through Ticketek with children 16 years and under admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Discounts are also available for members of RACV and affiliated motoring clubs as well as for Gold Coast residents.

The Australian PGA Championship is Australia’s richest golf tournament in 2015 being played for AU$1.75million and co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and European Tour.

The Championship is proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland as well as the City of Gold Coast and Gold Coast Tourism.
