Former PGA TOUR player David Lutterus led a six strong contingent of Australian players to earn an Asian Tour card for the 2016 season in Thailand last week.

""Lutterus finished in a share of fourth at the qualifier to be one of 41 players to punch a ticket to the Tour for the 2016 season.

Rounds of 71-70-65-68 saw the South Australian post 10-under for the week, three shots behind medalist Yikuen Chang of Korea.

Michael Wright (T11), Josh Younger (T25) and Darren Tan, Kevin Lee and Marcus Both (all T35) also earned status for the 2016 season.

2014 Philippine Open winner Both scraped in despite making a bogey six on the par-5 18th in the final round, his eventual 3-under total for the week just enough to earn one of the last cards.

Among those who made the cut but failed to earn a full card were David Gleeson and NSW PGA winner Jarryd Felton while Jake Higginbottom and Lucas Herbert were among the Australians to miss the final two rounds.

Meanwhile at the PGA TOUR China’s first Global Qualifying Tournament last week three Australians earned rights for the 2016 season.

Jake Younan finished second at the four round qualifier with Daniel Nisbet T5 and Christopher Wood T14.

There were 15 full cards on offer at the qualifier, Australian Masters runner-up Andrew Evans missing out on the top 15 by two shots.
