Bransdon looking to build on good start

After a successful Challenge Tour debut last week in Spain, Queensland Open champion David Bransdon will be looking to keep the momentum going this week in Turkey.

After a successful Challenge Tour debut last week in Spain, Queensland Open champion David Bransdon will be looking to keep the momentum going this week in Turkey.

""Bransdon joins Scott Arnold and Geoff Drakeford in the field for the Turkish Airlines Challenge, all three making their first appearance at the event.

Drakeford is teeing up on the secondary European Tour for the first time this year after enjoying moderate success in limited starts in 2015.

A second place finish in just his third event looked to have the Victorian off to a promising start but he failed to make the cut in three remaining starts for the year.

With the Challenge Tour now beginning in earnest, Drakeford, with improved status after attending last year’s Q-School, will be hoping to play his way to the European Tour by year’s end.

Arnold came close to achieving that goal in 2015 after notching his first Challenge Tour victory but struggled for form after winning in September and eventually finished well down the money list.

Each week is a new experience for Bransdon in terms of this Tour but the veteran will be relying on his experience to hopefully grab one the 15 European Tour cards on offer to the top finishers on the Order of Merit at year’s end.
