After failing to qualify for the US Open
two weeks ago Scott Hend has made the journey to Thailand this week where he
will start one of the favourites at the Asian Tour’s Queen’s Cup.

Hend is one of 10 Australians who will tee
up in the tournament played at the Santburi Samui Country Club in Koh Samui.

Asian Tour regulars Adam Groom, Kevin Lee,
Darren Tan, Marcus Both and Josh Younger will be joined by PGA Tour China
regular David Lutterus, Jordan Sherratt and tournament invite David Gleeson.

Hend will be trying to become just the
second non-Thai player to claim the title in its seven year history, Japan’s
Tetsuji Hiratsuka the only other to have achieved the feat in 2010.

Local legends Thaworn Wiratchant and Prayad
Marksaeng have dominated in recent times winning the last four stagings in
alternate years and with both in the field this week Hend will have his work
cut out for him.

This is Hend’s first appearance in the
event since being disqualified in 2013.
