Eastlake Golf Club’s Josh Ingram has booked his place at the PGA Professionals Championship in Hamilton Island after securing the State PGA Professionals Championship of NSW/ACT.
Carding a 3-under 69 on the challenging Twin Creeks Country Club layout, Ingram’s round included six birdies; the result of the hard work he has been putting into his game lately.
"I have been working hard on my game since graduating last year and finally the results are starting to show," said Ingram.
"It hasn’t been the most consistent year to date but I am constantly learning and improving on the course."
The PGA Trainee Program graduate paid thanks to his employer and mentor Ross Strachan, who continues to be a great support, together with his father, who was his caddy for the day.
Finishing in a tie for second were Richard Jumrukovski and Jason Pavese who both carded 2-under 70.
Along with a place in the PGA Professionals Championship, the winner of each state tournament is crowned State Champion and receives an invite to play in their respective State PGA Championship on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia.
Ingram’s victory will see him tee it up at the PGA Professionals Championship, the most prestigious title for Vocational PGA Professionals, at Hamilton Island from October 31 – November 3.
The two leading males from the PGA Professionals Championship Final will receive an invite to play at the 2016 Australian PGA Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort in December, while the leading female will receive an invite to the 2017 Oates Women’s Vic Open on the ALPG Tour.
