New Zealand’s Martin Pettigrew has claimed the Australian
PGA Seniors Championship at Mollymook Hilltop Golf Course in impressive fashion
finishing the 54 hole tournament at 2-under par.

"MartinPlaying in his first event on the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour,
Pettigrew recorded rounds of 72, 72 and a final round 70 to win the
Championship by three strokes from David Merriman.

Starting the final round one stroke ahead of Merriman,
Pettigrew played consistent golf with eight pars and a birdie through his
opening nine holes. His only blemish came via a bogey on the difficult par-4 14th
hole.

In his acceptance speech Pettigrew explained, "This win
means a lot to me as I had no status for next year. I was a bit nervous down
the stretch but once I hit it in close on 17 and made birdie, I was feeling comfortable."

PGA Legends Tour Co-coordinator Andy Rogers gave praise to
the organisers.

"I can’t believe what a good job the club has done. It is
great to see Shoalhaven Council and the whole community behind the event. The
improvements to the course over the past twelve months have really enhanced the
tournament."

E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour Order of Merit Leader Tim Elliott finished
the tournament in a tie for third and maintains his lead over David Merriman
with three events remaining.
