How good is the Top End? Not sure if this is a golf tournament this week or fishing expedition, plenty to do in this part of the world! The boys have been seeing the sights in the lead up to the tournament, but there’s one sight at the 18th they’ll be hoping to avoid at Palmerston Golf Club with a certain scaly local keen to help them find their way out the hazard!

Plenty of players will be hoping to carry some Fiji International form in to this tournament with a sprinkling of Asian Tour regulars in the mix as well, here’s my top-5 to watch…

5. Travis Smyth (am)

""

Travis has played in the big amateur events reaching the quarter finals at the U.S. Amateur. He will be primed to play well against the pros this week and take the next step in his young career.

4. Jack Wilson

""

The king of the kids! Seems to be enjoying his time in NT and has made some friends in the junior pro-am! Chin up mate, I like the dreads I don’t care what any 9-year-old says! A great attitude usually equates to great play and he could just play nicely this week.

3. James Marchesani

""

Has threatened to win a few times already this year with one of his best performances at the Fiji International on the big stage, it would be no surprise to see him get over the line this week.

2. Aron Price

""

Arguably the most credentialed player in the field making his first trip to the Top End. Another who played well in Fiji, you will see this guy featured on the leaderboard later in the week.

1. Matt Millar

""

Had a rare bad final round last year here when in contention and his straight hitting and the way he plots himself around the course should be suited to the layout this week. Had a wire-to-wire win last week in the Fiji Pro-Am and must be close to breaking through after a string of near misses this year.

The NT PGA Championship tees off Thursday, for tee times visit pga.org.au, best of luck to all!
