New Zealand’s Josh Geary has bolted to the finish line to share top Australasian honours at the China Tour event in Tianjin.

""Geary started the final round in a share of 17th position and looked to be slipping further with a bogey at his opening hole.

But he hit back with three consecutive birdies from the second and posted another two on the way to the turn and eventually posted a 6-under 66 to jump to T4 in the tournament.

That matched Max McCardle who posted a final round 68, the pair three behind winner Shaocai He of China who won in a playoff over Japan’s Taihei Sato.

Nine of the 14 Australasians who began the week made the cut, Deyen Lawson posting his fifth top-10 in five starts with a T9 result and next best behind Geary and McCardle.

Christopher Wood and Maverick Antcliff were T14, Mitchell Brown T26 and Bryden Macpherson posting his worst result of the season at T29.

Corey Hale (T34) and Daniel Nisbet (T51) were the last of the Australasians to make the cut with New Zealanders Fraser Wilkin and Daniel Pearce joining Australians Peter Martin, Kevin Yuan and Jack Munro in having the weekend off.
