Wade Ormsby continues to cement his position on the Race to Dubai and keep alive hopes of recapturing his 2018 European Tour card after playing the season on a medical exemption.

Ormsby and Dodt were the only two Australians to make the cut at this week’s British Masters in England, Ormsby’s third straight weekend after missing back-to-back cuts last month.

A mystery neck ailment saw Ormsby stop playing in April 2016 and miss several months of playing as a result.

He resumed playing in Australia late in the year and has played a full schedule in Europe since December.

With nine missed cuts in 24 starts the South Australian finds himself 91^st on the Race to Dubai with the top-100 to retain their cards for 2018.

Just three full field events remain before the lucrative, three tournament Race to Dubai Finals are played though Ormsby is unlikely to be among the top-60 who qualify for those events.

Ormsby fired rounds of 67-70-68-70 to be T44 at Close House Golf Course, one shot behind Andrew Dodt whose 6-under total was good for a share of 37^th.

Dodt’s solid season on the European Tour got back on track, after two missed cuts in a row, he rallied to finish in the money and currently sits 29th in the all important Race to Dubai rankings.

Brett Rumford led the list of six Australians to miss the cut, a disappointing double bogey at the 16^th hole of his second round proving costly as he failed to qualify by a single shot.

Jason Scrivener, Sam Brazel, Nathan Holman, Scott Hend and Marcus Fraser were all well outside the number.
