Hart wins Murwillumbah Coca-Cola Pro-Am

Tim Hart has won the Murwillumbah Coca-Cola Pro-Am by two strokes over Matt McLean and Michael Sim at Murwillumbah Golf Course.

Players were greeted with a beautifully prepared course and fine weather for the northern-New South Wales PGA Pro-Am Series event with Hart making the most of the conditions to fire a leading round of 6-under 63.

Hart’s fast start in the afternoon field aided his campaign for the title after shooting to an early 4-under lead alongside Justin Warren through the opening holes.

Hart was pleased to also finish strongly at the Murwillumbah layout after his form of late had not been to his liking.

“I haven’t been playing well recently and I wasn’t expecting too much today but after I birdied the first four holes I was thinking I could go low today,” said Hart, the 2019 PGA Pro-Am Series Order of Merit winner.

“My record around Murwillumbah hasn’t been great in the past so to shoot a low score and get the win today feels good.”

Morning players experienced the best of the conditions with Meadowbrook PGA Professional Matthew Rogers firing the low round of the morning, 3-under 66, to lead by one shot over Jay Mackenzie and Breanna Gill at 2-under.

Rounds of 4-under 65 from Sim and McLean saw the pair claim second place while Rogers’ efforts earned himself a share of fourth place alongside John Lyras and Justin Warren at 3-under.

Hart now hopes to carry his Murwillumbah form into the Ocean Shores Pro-Am on Tuesday 10 November.
