Cameron Percy on Sunday recorded a trifecta of top-10’s in his hometown event, the Web.com Tour’s Rex Hospital Open in Raleigh, North Carolina.

""Percy has made a home in Raleigh for several years and been a regular at the TPC at Wakefield Plantation course where he posted four sub 70 scores on his way to a T6 finish at the weekend.

It was his fourth top-10 in seven starts and third in three years after he was T7 last year and T4 in 2016.

Rounds of 67-67-67-68 had Percy in the mix all week, his 15-under total for the 72 holes three behind eventual winner Joey Garber.

Seven Australasians started the week in Raleigh with three qualifying for the weekend.

Rhein Gibson was next best behind Percy with a T14 finish and will take plenty of confidence from his best result and first top-20 since March.

Gibson started the season hot with back-to-back third place finishes and has been inside the top-25 money earners all year though needs to lift if he is to remain there through the end of the season.

This week’s result saw him slip from 20th to 21st but was an encouraging performance nonetheless after a run of missed cuts and poor play.

Jamie Arnold was the last Australasian to play all four days, his 5-under tournament total good for a T59 result.

Stuart Appleby, Brett Drewitt, Curtis Luck and New Zealand’s Tim Wilkinson all missed the 36-hole cut.
