Ogilvy moving in right direction

After a streak of five straight missed cuts Geoff Ogilvy found some much needed form in the Dominican Republic to post his first top-25 result in seven months.

After a streak of five straight missed cuts Geoff Ogilvy found some much needed form in the Dominican Republic to post his first top-25 result in seven months.

""The 2006 U.S. Open winner will be disappointed with his finish after making two bogeys in his last four holes but the T22 result at the Corales Puntacana Championship suggests his game is coming around.

Ogilvy was last inside the top-25 on the PGA TOUR when he posted a dramatic T16 finish at the Wyndham Championship in 2017 to keep his playing privileges for this season.

However, he has found the going tough in the early part of the season and his play this week will be a boost to his confidence.

Seven Australians began the week, Ogilvy one of three to play all four rounds.

Matt Jones finished one shot behind Ogilvy and T28 after a final round 69 while Cameron Percy was 2-under for the week and T54.

Stuart Appleby and Robert Allenby both made the 36-hole cut but didn’t advance beyond the third round, Greg Chalmers and Steven Bowditch both over par through 36 holes and missing the weekend.
