With the top ranked PGA TOUR players teeing up at the WGC event this week Jarrod Lyle has a great opportunity to advance his attempt to get back to the Tour at the opposite field Puerto Rico Open.
Lyle needs to earn a total of US$283,825 to get his status back and in four starts this season has amassed US$53,795.
While this week’s purse is smaller than most TOUR events the field is also weaker offering Lyle a chance to make a signifiant dent in his earnings target.
He has played the tournament at the Trump International course twice in his career and while making the cut both times his best finish is a disappointing T54.
While his 2015 form hasn’t been what he wanted with two missed cuts in two starts, Lyle played some good golf at the end of 2014 and will be looking to recapture that form.
Rod Pampling and Cameron Percy join Lyle in the field.
