Braden Becker has overcome a hot field and even hotter conditions to win the E-Z-GO Links Champion of Champions.

Summer definitely kicked into Perth for the tournament with some scorching heat for the players to contend with around the beautiful ocean side Sea View GC.

With players such as Jason Scrivener, Scott Strange, Daniel Fox, Braden Becker and Brody Martin in the field it was one of the strongest fields in West Aussie golf this year.

As the final event on the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series in Western Australia for the year, it was a tight battle for the $11,000 purse as well as the Order of Merit.

Braden Becker and Brody Martin dominated the May/ June swing of pro-am events, between them, the duo claimed seven wins from 14 events but thanks to his win at Seaview Becker also claimed the Order of Merit honours.

With 17 professionals teeing off in the morning field Jason Chellew set the early pace at 1-under the card.

Conditions toughened up for the afternoon field with 40km/h wind gusts challenging the players. But as the temperature heated up so did the scores.

Firing a brilliant round of 4-under 67 Becker won his 5^th event of the season in WA earning a bonus $3,220 for claiming OOM honours.

It’s been an amazing month of golf for Becker who rose to the top end of the leaderboard in his debut at both the Australian Open and Australian PGA Championship.

Although fading back into the field on Sunday, Becker has taken plenty away from the experience.

“It’s been so much fun the last month. To prove to myself I can compete with the big boys was invaluable. I’ve taken so many positives away from both those events, I just can’t wait to get into it again next year.” said Becker.

“I had a great day today at Sea View, it’s such a fun and casual event to end the year, hence why there is so much support from the players.

“I would like to say a big thank you to Tristan, the club and all the sponsors for making the event possible.

“I must also thank Hayley for all her support and caddying over the last few months also, I couldn’t have done it without her.”

Part-time player Steve Dartnall showed he still has the game to compete shooting 2-under 69 to finish tied second alongside Daniel Fox who closes out a successful 2018 which saw him win the Queensland PGA on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia.

Rick Kulacz finished his season with a 1-under 70 to join Chellew in a tie for fourth place.
