Australian Scott Barr has qualified for the first Shenzhen International in China.
The new southern China tournament, which was added to the European Tour schedule late last year, will be held at Genzon Golf Club in Shenzhen from April 16 – 19.
The championship course, designed by Neil Haworth, was home to the 2013 Volvo China Open.
Barr, one of 80 golfers hunting qualification for the European Tour and China Golf Association co-sanctioned tournament, shot 4-under in his final round for a Top-3 finish.
Professionals from The European Tour and China Golf Association, plus sponsor invitations, will make up a field of 156 vying for the US$2.5 million prize purse in April.
In 2014, Barr secured three top-10 finishes in his 12th season on the Asian Tour and made his debut on the PGA TOUR China recording his best finish T4 at the United Investment Real Estate Wuhan Open.
Barr also competes on the European Tour, with his best finish T24 at The Championship at Laguna National in 2014.
