PGA Women in Golf Scholarship Fund


The PGA Women in Golf Scholarship Fund (WiGSF) was launched late 2021 with two goals:

Whilst primarily established to provide scholarships to females undertaking the PGA Membership Pathway Program, the scope of the fund has been expanded to encompass all education programs leading to PGA membership in addition to providing support for current female Golf Professionals to continue their education via industry relevant higher education opportunities, with the aim of promoting females as leaders within the industry.

Scholarship Funding Areas:

1. The Next Generation of Members:

With the primary focus on creating new female PGA Professionals, funding is available to provide assistance to new or currently enrolled females to meet the financial obligations associated with undertaking a pathway to PGA Membership via one of the following programs:

  1. PGA Membership Pathway Program (MPP): The primary workforce development program for PGA Members. Completed over 3 years the Program encompasses academic, playing and work placement requirements.
  2. PGA Performance Program: A one year program focusing on golf performance improvement in addition to academics. Specific outcomes for graduates include a pathway in to the MPP or future tournament play in amateur and professional events.
  3. The Diploma of Golf Management (DOGM): Delivered by the PGA Institute this program is a purpose build Diploma qualification specific to Golf Management designed to meet the industry’s needs The DOGM offers aarticulation in to the MPP for eligible graduates.

2. Creating new leaders:

With the primary focus on creating more female leaders within the golf industry, funding is available to be accessed by current Full Vocational female Members. Funding can be used to access relevant higher education opportunities in one of the categories below.

  1. Diploma of Golf Management
  2. Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management
  3. Other relevant industry formal higher education opportunities
