The PGA Membership Pathway Program (formerly the PGA Trainee Program) has evolved to be one of the worlds’ most recognised golf related training programs. Greg Norman, John Senden, Nick O’Hern, Peter Lonard and Rod Pampling are all former members of the program.

About

The PGA Membership Pathway Program provides a platform to gain varied and valuable training and education within golf.
Since its inception, variations the PGA Membership Program have produced PGA Professionals who have gone on to forge successful careers in both Vocational and Tournament areas. Candidates in the PGA Membership Pathway Program work alongside fully qualified PGA Professionals at approved golf facilities around Australia and receive practical work experience and on the job training.

In addition, they gain access and play in a number of professional events for the duration of the program. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates receive exclusive Membership to one of the oldest and most respected sporting associations in the world, with the PGA of Australia.

Nominal Duration

The nominal duration period for students to meet all competencies and criteria in the program is three (3) years.

Nationally Recognised Qualifications

Graduates of the PGA Membership Program are eligible to receive a Diploma-level qualification, which is exclusively delivered by PGA International Golf Institute (RTO No. 31270 – Cricos 02754G)

Area of study

Coaching: Knowledge and skills for golf coaching, leading to the highest level of coach accreditation in golf
Game Development: Strategies and skills to actively grow participation and enjoyment of the sport of golf.
Small Business:  Strategic and operational skills for successfully operating a small business in the golf industry
Management: Skills and strategies relating to planning, organising and leading a golf club or golf organisation
Playing: Assessment of playing ability via competition in professional events

Employment Outcomes

The postgraduate employment rate is well above average, with 90 per cent of graduates gaining golf industry specific employment in their first year as a Member of the PGA. Employment opportunities for graduates include, but are not limited to:
