Two consistent rounds of 66 and 66 for a 12-under 132 total have seen Adam Burdett win the Traralgon Latrobe City WIN Network Pro-Am at Traralgon Golf Club.
Cool conditions greeted players on day two after heavy overnight rains and storms softened the course after the heat of day one.
Despite the softer course conditions, strong southerly winds made play difficult with overnight leader Tim Hart struggling to find his rhythm.
Hart began his round cautiously from the 1st tee, shooting six straight pars and adding a birdie on the 7th to move him to 10-under.
Hart’s luck ran out on the 9th, losing his ball after a wayward left drive.
He returned to the tee as a result and went on to shoot a triple bogey 7, sending him back to 7-under to sit two shots behind Burdett.
Burdett’s round began on the par-5 2nd hole, collecting four birdies among the front-9 to head to the turn at 9-under for the tournament.
A bogey on the 10th in the challenging conditions put him down a shot, however Burdett was able to follow up with a further four birdies to move to 12-under, three shots clear of the field.
Hart was not done, however, producing an eagle on the 16th and par on the 17th, giving himself the chance to tie with Burdett on the 18th.
Hart’s chip, however, came up short when his birdie putt ran three feet past, handing Burdett the win.
“I love coming to Traralgon, the course is always in great condition and the greens are a real credit to Nathan and his team, they roll perfectly,” said Burdett.
“It’s been a while since I had a win; I think it’s my first since 2016 Murray Downs, so it’s great.”
The Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series continues at Latrobe Golf Club on Friday at the Nelson Alexander Latrobe Pro-Am.
