Ten Australians will be hoping that Christmas comes a little later than usual when they chase a 2019 Asian Tour card at Qualifying School Final Stage at Thailand’s Lakeview Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin from Thursday.

Accomplished PGA Tour of Australasia professionals Rick Kulacz, Daniel Fox and Peter Wilson are among the Aussie contingent along with world No.313 amateur Will Heffernan and recently-turned pro George Worrall who hails originally from Alice Springs Golf Club in the Northern Territory.

Winner of the 2017 Portsea Amateur and based out of Royal Melbourne, Heffernan is in the first group off the 10th tee on Thursday morning as he nears a step into the professional ranks.

Having spent the majority of 2018 playing on the Challenge Tour in Europe, Jack Munro is off the first tee from 7.40am with 2018 Coca-Cola Queensland PGA champion Daniel Fox also off at 7.40am from the 10th tee.

Recently graduated Royal Sydney Golf Club trainee Benjamin Stowe is the last of the Aussies in the morning groups, the National Futures champion in October ready to launch his professional career from 8.30am.

Worrall is the first of the Aussies among the afternoon wave from 11.20am from the first tee with Wilson, Jack Murdoch and Kade McBride in consecutive groups on the 10th tee from 11.20am.

Tied for eighth at the TX Civil & Logistics WA PGA Championship, Wilson is seeking a return to the Asian Tour while Murdoch is also a newly-minted professional, the former Kingston Heath-based amateur earning a place the Isuzu Queensland Open in October through pre-qualifying.

Based at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast, McBride played five events on the China Golf Tour in 2018 with a best finish sixth at the Chongqing Kingrun Open and will commence his pursuit of an Asian Tour card from 11.40am off the 10th tee.

Exempt on the MENA Tour that plays throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa, Peter Stojanovski rounds out the Aussie assault, the 2017 Ras Al Khaimah Classic winner seeking a return to the Asian Tour for the first time since 2015.
