Burns’ 2-under 68, however, was an impressive feat at a layout that is challenging to play at the best of times.

“Despite how crazy the weather was out there today this is a great golf course,” Burns said.

“The course was in great condition and under normal circumstances would be really enjoyable to play.”

Finishing two shots back on even-par was recent front-runner Tim Elliott, Grand Fyander and Dean Sipson.
