"RickPlayed across two rounds at the Cottesloe Golf Club in Western Australia, the battle for the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series win was tight as 27 professionals stood within four shots of the lead at the conclusion of round one.

WA’s Brady Watt shot the day’s lowest score of 66 to take the clubhouse lead of 6-under par but was quickly followed by Kulacz who improved on Watt’s total to take victory by just one shot.

“The game has been feeling really good; it’s just great to finally get over the line,” said Kulacz.

“It was awesome to get one early in the swing and hopefully I can sneak a couple more.”

With great scores being posted throughout the afternoon, 2018 winner Michael Choi and ever-consistent Matthew Millar – who was on course to leap Kulacz – both signed for rounds of 3-under 69 to finish on 6-under the card in second place alongside Watt.

Andrew Martin and Josh Younger tied for fifth place at 5-under the card, ahead of a list of five players at 4-under.

Overnight leaders Brody Martin and Darren Rix got off to a poor start in round two, unfortunately falling out of contention after posting rounds of 73 and 78 respectively.

Players now head to WA Hino Pro-Am at Western Australian Golf Club for event number three on the WA swing of the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series calendar.

"BrodyA stellar field has assembled for the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series event where WA’s Brody Martin and Queensland Ladbrokes Legends Tour player Darren Rix lead the field following the opening day of play.

Sitting atop the leaderboard with rounds of 4-under 68, 27 players within four shots of Martin and Rix as competition heats up ahead of day two.

“What a great golf course, I thoroughly enjoyed it,” said Rix, whose first time to Cottesloe Golf Club has been a memorable one after managing just 21 putts in the round including seven birdies.

Seven players sit one shot further back after firing rounds of 3-under 69 including the inform Michael Long, defending champion Michael Choi, the ever consistent Matt Millar, rookie Professional Robbie Morison as well as Victorian Josh Younger and WA’s David Andrews.

West Coast Wine Cellars Hartfield Pro-Am winner Peter Wilson and seven others sit two shots off the lead at 2-under the card and with a further seven players three back, this is anyone’s to win.

Darren Rix also leads the $18,000 Senior Invitational with his round of 4-under 68. Michael Long holds second place with Michael Harwood and Wayne Smith both within four shots.

Round two begins at 7am AWST with the afternoon field commencing at 11.20am. Leaders will tee off at 12.40pm.

""Choi took advantage of perfect conditions in the opening round and recorded an impressive 5-under 67 to share the overnight lead with fellow Victorian, amateur Shane Feldman.

With 29 players within 5 shots of the leaders, the final round was set for a fantastic finish where yet another name will be added to the illustrious honour board.

While the sun disappeared and rain arrived at Cottesloe GC, it couldn’t dampen the scoring with great golf being played.

Victorian Peter Wilson and Tasmanian Simon Hawkes posted great second rounds of 4-under 68 to tie for second.

But it was overnight leader Choi who posted a final round of 4-under 68 to close the door on anyone else’s title chances and slip the 2018 winners blue jacket on himself finishing 9-under the card.

Wilson and Hawkes finished three shots further back at 6-under the card while Dimitrios Papadatos took fourth at 4-under the card.

Rick Kulacz rounds out the top-5 finishing 3-under the card.

In the Seniors event, Peter Fowler posted a second even-par round of 72 to leapfrog overnight leader Mike Harwood and win the title by one shot.

""The Open, now in its 53rd year and part of the Ladbrokes Pro-Am Series, has had some of the game’s greats win the title including Graham Marsh, Roger MacKay, Terry Gale and Greg Chalmers.

In the Open event this year the professionals will play for a record prize purse of $45,000 attracting one of the strongest fields to date including Simon Hawkes and Matthew Millar as well as local favourites Jarryd Felton and recently crowned Coca-Cola QLD PGA champion Daniel Fox.

Once again the Super Seniors Invitational will be played in conjunction with the Open event for a prize purse of $15,000 which has also attracted a stellar field that sees legends such as Michael Harwood, Michael Clayton and former Australian Open winner Peter Fowler teeing it up.

The first round tees off tomorrow morning from 7:00am local time with the afternoon fields starting at 11.20am.
