The Ladbrokes Legends Tour Qualifying School has wrapped up at Settlers Run Golf Club in Victoria, with Brad Cumming and American Richard Gilkey securing their cards for the 2019 season.
The first stage of Qualifying School was played over 36 holes, with 12 non-members competing for just three places to play alongside 15 PGA Professionals in the final stage.
A player on the PGA Tour of Australasia in the early 90s, Richard Gilkey lead the first stage with rounds of 70 and 76, while Queenslander Brad Cumming and Settlers Run Golf & Country Club member Kim Johnson also moved on to the Final Stage.
Both Gilkey and Cumming were well positioned after the first round of the Final Stage, with Cumming tied for the lead alongside Victorian Robby Emond on even par 72, and Gilkey just one shot behind on 73.
New South Welshman Rob Willis turned up the heat in the final round, shooting an even par to climb through the field and secure second place.
Cumming, however, was able to keep his cool, shooting an outstanding 3-under 69 to secure the number one card with five shots in hand over Willis.
Cumming, alongside third-placed Richard Gilkey with rounds of 73 and 74, both received their cards and join the Ladbrokes Legends Tour. The top-9 players all received status on the Tour with the final results available here.
The Ladbrokes Legends Tour kicks off on Australia Day, with the Peach’s Fruit Market Victorian Senior Masters played across two days at Midlands Golf Club.
