Teaching Professional at Noosa Springs Resort Hamish Robertson has secured his first trip to the PGA Professionals Championship at Hamilton Island with a 2-under par round of 68 at the PGA Professionals Championship of South East QLD.
Robertson’s round included six birdies, two bogies and one double bogey around the Sanctuary Cove Gold Coast Palms course.
“I have set myself for the event before and have fallen short of qualifying so it is great to finally get to Hamilton Island, a place I have heard amazing things about," said Roberston.
“My wife is due to have our third child not long before the event and therefore all things going well with the birth, Hamilton Island would be a great way to top off the year.”
Robertson also wins return airfares to Hamilton Island in addition to an exemption into the 2019 Coca-Cola QLD PGA Championship at City Golf Club in Toowoomba.
Also joining him at the QLD PGA Championship is Southport Golf Club’s Nelson Turner and Meadowbrook Golf Club’s Matthew Rogers courtesy of the top-3 players receiving an exemption.
The top-12 players in total win their way through to the PGA Professionals Championship at Hamilton Island to be played from 19-22 November 2018 where the leading two professionals will win a position at the Australian PGA Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort alongside Marc Leishman.
